Shopping in Romford again

Sizzix on Sale

overcast 2 °C

We said we would take Gill & John out for dinner tonight. After much discussion over the weather and conditions, we are going to stay fairly local. We have invited Colin & Jo, Ian & brother John to come, but they all said no – sod them then! LOL! Working out what to do took some time, so we didn’t go much further than Romford today. Ian came round and we asked him to take us into the shops – he dropped us close to where we wanted to go, so that was great. We started at Hobbycraft, which is a cross between Lincraft & Spotlight. Got some great bargains on some Sizzix stuff, so I was really happy. Budget is not yet blown though, so some more shopping is on the cards. We went shopping for some other things too, a few more clothes for Em, new scarves and stuff. Had lunch at Starbucks, then went into the Disney shop, where they had a great sale on. Picked up a few bits & pieces for presents. Phil wanted to wander the shops on the high street, but by the time we came out it was starting to snow again, just. We decided to catch the bus home at that point, and the shops were starting to close anyway.
When we got back, we found out that Colin & Jo had decided to come to dinner anyway, so while we waited for them to arrive, Joelin & I went with Gill to take Daisy Dog for a walk. Colin & Jo had arrived by the time we got home, so we headed off to the local Harvester. We had to wait for a while, but it was pleasant to sit in the bar & chat. Dinner was pretty good, and it was nice to spoil Gill for a change. She won’t let us do anything, so this was just one way we could say thanks.
Gill did call Maureen & Mem in North Wales and they said that they are snowed in, so I really doubt we will get to see them. They haven’t had bus services for a week. It was nice to talk to Mem though. We will continue to monitor the weather, and today has seen a bit of a thaw, so we are starting to get a little hopeful.
